Overview

The Power Line Communication (PLC) technology provides a low cost and easy way to connect and to control devices in the industrial, or domestic, environment. Where there is a plugged device there is a connected device.

Advanced Digital Design (ADD) has developed this AMR PLC Development System to provide you with an easy way to start up in PLC technology. ADD technology is based on ADD1000AQF128 chip. It is a Power Line Communications System on Chip, which implements a full PLC node. It includes an enhanced 8051 microcontroller, a Medium Access Controller (MAC) and a Modem circuit. It provides a low cost and small size solution for narrow band power line communications.

ADD can supply also reference designs, application notes, embedded communication stack software (ECSS), and developing tools. With this Development System, you can develop your own communications library, but from ADD, we recommend to use our embedded communication stack software in new designs, to assure compatibility with forthcoming ADD technology.

 

Description

Initial and advanced training in AMR PLC technology using ADD devices.

It includes:

  • 1 ADD7260, a 3-phase PLC Driver
  • 2 ADD7281, expansion board 1 ON/OFF output + RS232, to test PLC communication
  • 5 ADD7232, to plug onto ADD7260 and 7281 boards and control them
  • 1 ADD7233, a meter design reference which includes the PLC node, power supply, LCD, and an Energy Metering circuit based on ADE7755 IC

Documentation, example tests with C source code, and a PC monitoring application are also included.

ADD provides customers with support and collaboration on development with this development system.
